2016 was Tom’s rookie year in Junior rallying, so every rally was totally new to him and the team. Tom started the season off in a Nissan Micra but after the first two events changed over to the Citroen C1 which proved to be the right move for him.
Tom commented ” I was hoping to finish the 2016 season in the top ten so to finish 5th in the championship was more than any of us expected. We had some great results and even managed a podium finish at Pembrey”
Rawlings went on to say “with the continued support of my mentor, mechanic and sponsor Chris Woodhouse of Woodhouse Brothers Garage and my other sponsor Visual Security I will be pushing hard for more podium finishes and hopefully finish the championship in the top 3 although I think this year will be very hard with the quality of drivers that have entered. I am really looking forward to the 1st round at Anglesey and cannot wait to get the season started. “
Tom also said “I would like to say big congratulations to Chris Woodhouse and his wife Rachel on the birth of their twin daughters Georgia and Isla and for giving up so much of his free time to prepare the car for this season”.
